BLACK & WHITE GRAPHIC DRAWING

The goal of this project was to create a composition that expressed three-dimensional depth and generated visual interest through various design elements such as shape, line, value, and texture.

Turning my object, a screwdriver, into a compelling composition with three-dimensional depth required the modification and abstraction of its individual features. With this, along with the variation and cohesive use of line weight, proportions, shapes, and values, I was able to uncover hidden elements that contributed to my design’s overall depth and visual intrigue. Together, these elements formed a sense of unity throughout the composition, also forming a focal point where they become the darkest, smallest, and most intricately detailed.
